How every guide is made
Independent tests first
We start with testing labs and security audits, such as AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives and SE Labs. Their results carry the most weight.
Then the experts
We read the latest expert reviews and note where they agree and where they don't. Nothing older than 18 months counts.
And what users say
Where enough people have reviewed a product, we sum up what they like and complain about. It sits beside the score, never inside it.
